3. DANGEROUS PROPERTIES

Irritating to the eyes and respiratory organs. Repeated or prolonged contact with sensitive or scratched skin may cause allergic reactions.

4. FIRST AID

Inhalation

Low volatility. In the event of discomfort, seek out fresh air.

Skin

Wash immediately with soap and water.

Eyes

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Consumption

Rinse mouth with water. Drink a great deal of water. Do not induce vomiting.



5. IN THE EVENT OF FIRE

Appropriate extinguishing medium

Non-flammable product. Flash point >100 °C. If the product is exposed to fire, powder, foam or carbon dioxide should be used to extinguish it.

Fire/explosion risks

Traces of toxic gas can build when product is burned.

Use breathing equipment.



6. IN THE EVENT OF SPILL / ACCIDENTAL RELEASE

Personal measures

Clean with soap and water or a cleaning solution. Ventilate the area.

Sanitation methods

Larger spills are to be confined using sand, dirt or similar material and collected in a closed container for destruction. Smaller spills are to be wiped up with paper towels and deposited in a refuse container.

Tips for safe handling

No special handling requirements. Avoid repeated or prolonged skin contact to limit the risk of allergic reaction. Use in a well ventilated space.

Storage directives

Store in original packaging at 8°C to 21°C. Do not return excess material to original packaging as this could reduce the storage life of the product.

In the event of repeated or prolonged skin contact, use protective gloves made from polyethylene, natural rubber or a similar ester-resistant material. Use of Loctite dosage equipment recommended.

Inhalation

Skin

Acute dermal LD50 (rabbits) is estimated at > 2000 mg/kg. Normally not a product that induces an allergic reaction, but repeated or prolonged contact with damaged or sensitive skin could cause an allergic reaction.

Eyes

Irritating to the eyes.

Consumption

Considered to have low toxicity. Acute oral (rats) > 5000 mg/kg.

Stored away from water and sanitation.

Fixed material, insoluble in water. No negative effects expected.

Ecotoxicity

The hardened Loctite product is a typical polymer and thus poses no immediate environmental danger. In hardened form, the environmental impact of this product is insignificant in relation to the parts with which it is used.

Miscellaneous information

Biochemical and chemical oxygen demand (BOD and COD) are insignificant for the hardened Loctite product. Care should be taken as regards the environmental impact of the parts with which the product has been used.



13. WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste management

Used packaging contaminated with this product is to be handled as environmentally dangerous waste and be disposed of in accordance with local and national laws and ordinances. Large quantities of unused product can be disposed of as chemical waster after polymerisation by adding Loctite activator 7638 or 7641. Burn or dispose of following local and national laws and ordinances. This product contributes an insignificant amount of was in relation to the products with which it is used.
