The hydraulic unit is located in the torsion box behind the rear seat. It comprises a pump block with integrated oil reservoir and a DC motor, a valve block with electrically controlled hydraulic valves and two relays fitted on a bracket on the valve block that supply power to the electric motor and are controlled by the STC control module. An emergency operation valve (8) in the valve block is used to operated the soft top in emergency situations and is easily accessible under a cover when the rear seat backrest is lowered. The soft top is operated by two hydraulic cylinders located where the soft top mechanism is mounted to the body. The fifth bow is also operated by two cylinders located in the same place. The soft top is operated by a hydraulic cylinder located on the right side of the luggage compartment.
