Lowering the soft top

Lowering the soft top

1 Soft top completely raised and locked to the windscreen frame

The following condition must be met before the soft top can be operated:

The car must not be travelling at speeds greater than 10 km/h.

The ignition must be in position “ON”.

The boot lid must be closed.

The soft top storage must be in the bottom position.

Voltage must be 10 - 16V

The soft top is lowered by first opening the latch handle in the first bow. Then, the “ROOF button is pressed backwards until the soft top is completely lowered (open) and an acoustic signal is heard from SID.

The soft top is lowered sequentially, that is, each individual movement must be completed before the next one can start.

The following table illustrates the condition of the switches and microswitches when the soft top is completely raised (closed) and locked to the windscreen frame.

If a malfunction should occur while operating the soft top, the STC control module will send bus messages “Sound” and “Text message, whereby SID sounds an acoustic signal at the same time as it displays an error message.

The following tables and illustrations show which condition switches/microswitches, pump, valves as well as relay assume for the fifth bow latch motor at each movement sequence.
