All Saab 9-3 3D within VIN range W2060812 - W2069663 (M98) and
X2005541 - X2008765 and X2020139 - X2025932 (M99)
On occasions, the door trim seal on certain cars has fitted poorly to the rear corner of the door. The fit between the lip on the door trim seal and the radius on the B-pillar trim is not good, which means that it can open up to 15 mm. In the event of complaints from customers, proceed as follows.
These measures are divided into A and B depending on model year and VIN range.
51 17 411 Door trim seal LH with white marking in centre of radius
51 17 429 Door trim seal RH with blue marking in centre of radius.
43 33 589 Plastic plug
A The trim seal is fastened with butyl tape in the radius on the B-pillar trim
On cars within VIN ranges W2060812 - W2068747 (M98) and X2005541 - X2008505 (M99), the trim seal is fastened in the radius to the B-pillar trim with butyl tape.

Open the door and remove the scuff plate and door seal.
|
|
2.
|
Remove any residue from the butyl tape on the B-pillar trim.
|
|
3.
|
Fit the new trim seal. Start at the rear top corner and place the colour marking in the centre of the radius.

Important
|
|
White colour marking is for left-hand door seal.
|
|
Blue colour marking is for right-hand door seal.
|
|
|
Continue to fit the rest of the seal.
|
|
4.
|
Wash off the colour marking with water.
|
B The trim seal is fastened with a plastic plug in the radius on the B-pillar trim
On cars within VIN ranges W2068748 - W2069663 (M98), X2008506 - X2008765 (M99) and X2020139 - X2025932 (M99), the trim seal is fastened in the radius to the B-pillar trim with a plastic plug.

Open the door and remove the scuff plate.
|
|
2.
|
Remove the plastic plug securing the door seal to the B-pillar at the rear top corner and remove the door seal.
|
|
3.
|
Place the new trim seal so that the colour marking is positioned against the roof just where the radius starts.

Important
|
|
White colour marking is for left-hand door seal.
|
|
Blue colour marking is for right-hand door seal.
|
|
|
|
|
4.
|
Make a 5 mm hole 8 mm from the edge of the lip so that it fits the hole in the B-pillar trim.
|
|
6.
|
Continue to fit the rest of the seal.
|
|
7.
|
Wash off the colour marking with water.
|
