Open the tailgate.

Remove the tailgate trim (5 clips, 4 bolts), see Service Manual 8:2 Interior equipment.

Remove the retainer bolts that secure the lock motor.
|
|
| 4. |
Remove the expansion rivet that secures the plastic hinge to the tailgate by slightly pressing in the expander pin and pull out the rivet completely.

| 5. |
Carefully pull out the lock motor and turn the motor to remove it from the plastic hinge.

| To fit |
| 1. |
Hook the lock motor onto the plastic hinge and turn in the motor to its original position.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the expander rivet that secures the plastic hinge to the tailgate.
|
|
| 3. |
Tighten the bolts for the lock motor.
|
|
| 4. |
Fit the tailgate trim, see Service Manual, 8:2 Interior equipment.
