Centre console

To remove


The floor console must be loosened and moved slightly to the rear before the centre console can be removed.


1. Remove the right and left-hand side side panels by removing the retaining screws (one screw is located behind the glove compartment) and pressing each part out of the centre console.

2. Cars with manual gearbox: Remove the gearbox gaiter with a screwdriver. The gaiter is fastened with clips.

Remove the rim.

3. Cars with ACC: Press out the ACC module from the rear and unplug the connector.


4. Cars without ACC: Press out the heater control panel from the rear.

5. Detach the air distribution shaft from the air distribution control.

6. Unplug the connectors for the vent control lighting, fan speed, electrically heated rear window and air recirculation.

7. Detach the cable to the heater control on the valve control module. The cable is secured with an eye bolt and locked with a lock washer.

8. Remove the heater control panel.

9. Unplug all the connectors to the centre console.

10. Remove the expansion rivets that secure the console to the dashboard by pressing in the centre pin approx. 3 mm and pulling the rivet out. Use 84 71 179 Removal tool .

11. Lift away the centre console.


To fit



1. Put the centre console in place over the gear lever.

2. Plug in all the connectors on the centre console.

Orange connector - RH seat heater. Yellow connector - LH seat heater.

3. Fit the expansion rivets that secure the console to the dashboard (first, press in the rivet and then the centre pin). Do not tighten the rear retaining screw as it also secures the floor console.

4. Cars with ACC: Plug in the ACC module connector and press the module into place.

5. Cars without ACC: Fit the heater control wire to the vent control module. The wire is held with an eyebolt and secured with a lock washer.

6. Plug in the connectors for the vent control lighting, fan speed, electrically heated rear window and air recirculation.

7. Attach the air distribution shaft to the air distribution control.

8. Fit the heater control panel.

9. Cars with manual gearbox: Fit the gear lever gaiter (fastened with clips).

Fit the rim.


10. Fit the right and left-hand side side panels by pressing each part into the centre console and tightening the retaining screws (one screw is located behind the glove compartment).
