The product is classified as dangerous goods when transporting. Special regulations apply to packaging, marking and transport, therefore existing lead times cannot be guaranteed.

The product is flammable. May be hazardous if inhaled after frequent and repeated exposure. May be poisonous if ingested. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Must not be poured down the drain. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Make sure that ventilation is adequate.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

The product is highly flammable.

Adverse health effects

Vapours may cause drowsiness and can give rise to headaches, tiredness, dizziness and nausea. Vapours from organic solvents are absorbed through the lungs and may cause lasting damage to the nervous system, including the brain. Chemically-induced pneumonia may result from the product entering the lungs due to ingestion or vomiting. Irritates and dries the skin. May cause eye irritation.

Adverse environmental effects

Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. The product contains a substance that may contribute to the photochemical formation of ozone.



4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Burns

In the event of contact with melted product, rinse immediately with water. Remove while rinsing clothing/fabric that is not burnt on. Call an ambulance. Continue rinsing during transport.

Inhalation

The person should rest in fresh air under supervision. In the event of discomfort, seek medical advice and take along this material safety data sheet. If the person is unconscious, place in the recovery position with the head low and keep warm. CALL AN AMBULANCE. Take along this material safety data sheet.

Skin

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing, and wash the effected skin with soap and water. In the even of eczema or other skin irritation: Seek medical advice (take along this material safety data sheet).

Eyes

Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and keep the eyes wide open. If the irritation persists continue rinsing while on the way to hospital. Take along this material safety data sheet.

Ingestion

Rinse the mouth immediately and drink plenty of water or milk. Keep the person under supervision. Do not induce vomiting. In the event of vomiting, keep the head low. Visit a hospital immediately and take along this material safety data sheet.



5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing media

Use a foam, carbon dioxide, powder or water mist extinguisher. If exposed to heat, cool with water and remove from the area of fire, if this is possible without entailing risk.

Specific hazards

Exposure to a strong heat source will cause an increase in pressure which may lead a container to explode. Burning produces toxic vapours (CO, CO2).

Special protective equipment for firefighters

In the event of firefighting, use respiratory equipment with an air supply.



6. SPILLAGE/ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions

Do not breathe vapours. Smoking, naked flames and other sources of ignition forbidden. See point 8 regarding personal protective equipment.

Environmental precautions

Do not empty into drains, onto land or in watercourses.

Methods for cleaning up

Confine or place absorbent material on the spilt product using sand, earth or other non-flammable material. For disposal considerations, refer to point 13.

Advice for safe handling

Observe good chemical hygiene. Do not breathe vapours and avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Mechanical ventilation may be necessary. Emergency sprinklers or other liberal supply of water must be present.

Storage instructions

Follow the instructions for flammable fluids.
