Suitable extinguishing media

Carbon dioxide, foam, powder or fine water spray. Water can be used to keep containers exposed to fire cool.

Wear a full breathing mask and protective clothing. Use water spray to cool containers until the fire is completely extinguished. Follow the emergency plan if the area requires evacuation or isolation.

Flammable products

Silica. Carbon dioxide and traces of incompletely combusted carbon compounds. Formaldehyde.

Other health information

At temperatures >150°C, the product can release formaldehyde vapour into the air. This is harmful by inhalation and irritating to the eyes and respiratory system at concentrations below 1 ppm. Heat curing can produce traces of 2,6-cis-diphenylhexamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and phenylheptamethylcyclotetrasiloxane. Both of these products may be adverse to the fertility of males.
