3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

General information

The product is not classified as harmful but should be handled in accordance with authority guidelines for good hygiene and safety in industry.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation

If irritation, headache, nausea or dizziness are experienced, seek fresh air. Seek medical advice if breathing becomes laboured or if symptoms persist.

Skin

Wash with soap and water. Seek medical advice if skin irritation appears or persists.

Eyes

Flush immediately with plenty of water; preferably warm water. Hold the eye wide open. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing media

Can be extinguished with water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or powder.

Unsuitable extinguishing media

Do not use water jet.

Fire/Explosions risks

Combustion produces irritating fumes.

Special protective equipment for firefighters

Move and/or cool with water containers in the vicinity of fire. If a leak or spill has not ignited, use water spray to disperse the vapours and to provide protection for persons attempting to stop the leak.

Other information

What protective equipment is required depends on the size and limitation of the fire and the natural ventilation in the area. Fire-resistant clothing and breathing apparatus are recommended for fires in confined areas and if ventilation is poor. Fully fire-proof clothing is recommended for large fire in which this product is involved. In case of fire - always notify the fire authorities. Small fires that can be extinguished with a hand-held fire extinguisher can normally be extinguished by a person who has received training regarding the risk of fires in inflammable fluids. Large fires must only be fought by qualified persons.

6. SPILLAGE/ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Environmental precautions

Prevent release into drains or watercourses.

Methods for cleaning up

Recover spillage by shovelling, pumping or soaking up in suitable absorbent material (sand, earth or other inert material). Dispose of at a suitable waste disposal facility in accordance with current legislation and regulations. Contact the emergency services in case of large spillages.

Other information

Spilt product presents a slip risk.

Temporary contact will not cause irritation. Prolonged contact, such as due to contaminated clothing, may cause skin dryness and irritation in the form of local redness and possible discomfort.

Eye contact

May cause mild irritation, experienced as temporary discomfort.

Ingestion
