Engine oil and oil filter


Check for oil leakage

Check that no oil leakage occurs at the top or bottom of the engine/gearbox or in the power steering hydraulic system.

Engine oil


Change oil. Fill to the MAX mark. The difference between the marks corresponds to 1 litre (1.05 qts).

Check the level when the engine is warm, 2-5 minutes after turning off the engine.

Oil capacity

B204, B234, B235: 4.0 litres (4.2 qts) including filter

Oil type

See Lubrication, lubricants .

Tightening torques:

Drain plug

B204, B234, B235: 25 Nm (18.5 lbf ft)

Check the oil level after changing oil and oil filter.

Warning

Make sure the filler cap is screwed on properly after topping up with oil. Oil on the exhaust manifold can cause fires.


Oil filter change



• Loosen the oil filter with the filter wrench and unscrew it. Clean the sealing surface on the engine.

• Oil in the rubber gasket on the new filter and fit it. Tighten the filter by hand.



• Start the engine and check the filter for leaks.
