Introduction

When repairing cars, it is necessary to use various chemicals when work has been done that has damaged seals, rust-proofing, etc.

It is important that the correct materials are used in order to ensure high quality of all repairs. The products are presented here in order to give a good overview of the product range and the list will be updated as new products are added and other products are removed.

The must be specified when ordering any of these products unless stated otherwise.

Most products included in this catalogue are related to repair work in garages but some expendables are also included.

Chemicals classed as spare parts can also be found in the parts catalogue (EPC). Products classed as shop goods, e.g. touching-up sticks and touching-up paint can be found in the accessories catalogue (EAC).

A short description is given of the product's characteristics.

Saab application

A description is given as to what the primary application is for the material.

Packaging

The number of items per package is given.

Transport

Some of the products are classified as dangerous goods when transporting.

According to international regulations, these products must be transported in approved special packaging, and special markings and a warning label must be affixed on the package.

This means that indicated lead times may be affected and that costs for packaging and transporting increase.

Directives

Good personal hygiene must be observed when handling chemical products. Wash your hands before meals and at the end of the working day. Avoid inhaling vapour/mist. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

Packages containing flammable goods should be kept sealed and stored in adequately ventilated areas. These products must be kept separate from materials that may ignite them - Smoking is prohibited. Make sure that ventilation is adequate in the storage area.

Further information concerning each individual product can be found on product information sheets available from the respective country manager at Parts Assistance Centre (PAC). This information will also be published on CD-ROM in the future.

Ensure all containers/packaging are resealed after use and use aerosols only in conjunction with approved extractors. Used and remains from containers/packaging must be discarded in designated places.

Accident prevention measures


Technical measures

Make sure that ventilation is adequate. If proper ventilation cannot be achieved, use suitable breathing protection.



Personal measures

Use protective safety glasses or a facial shield when there is a risk of chemicals splashing into the eyes.

If long exposure to or repeated contact with the product is unavoidable, use protective gloves.

Wash contaminated clothing before they are used again.



First aid

Inhalation:

If vapour/mist have been inhaled, move to fresh air, rest.

Eye contact:

If there is contact with the eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If symptoms persist, contact a physician.

Skin contact:

In case of skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. If symptoms persist, contact a physicia.

In case of an accident, nausea or other effects:

Contact a physician. If possible, show the label of the product involved.
