Cutting

1. Body

2. Spare part

3. Joint

Warning

It is extremely important for satisfactory spot extraction equipment to be provided in areas where heat is generated by the work carried out there, such as welding, grinding, cutting and drilling.

Complement this with effective respiratory protection like a face mask with charcoal filter or better still a fresh-air mask.

When heated, all paints, sealants, adhesives and anti-corrosion agents give off substances which are injurious to health.

Joints in the body must be al-welded, unless otherwise stated. For best results, the sheet metal must be positioned edge-to-edge when the joint is welded. The best way to get an optimum fit between the spare part and the body, cut the sheet metal as follows:

Cut the spare part so that it overlaps the intended joint line by approximately three centimetres.

Cut away the damaged body part so that it overlaps the intended joint line by approximately three centimetres.

Position the spare part and align it exactly by means of the aligning bench measuring system. Refit the undamaged bodywork that has been removed and check the fit of the spare part.

Cut through both sheet metal plates at the intended joint line.
