For steps 13, 14 and 15 two (2) persons are required. |

In order to avoid damaging the paintwork, fasten a strip of tape. |

Remove the trim in the window frame and on the tailgate, see
Door trim, tailgate
|

| 2. |
Remove the central locking system motor by removing the two retaining screws and the link arm so that the motor can be rotated and the connector for the motor is accessible.
|

| 3. |
Unplug the connector for the lock motor.
|
|
| 4. |
Unplug the remaining connectors as well.
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the wiring harness from the cable ties.
|
|
| 6. |
Prise off the wear protection in the hole for the cable entry, so that the lead-through catches are accessible.
|
|
| 7. |
Detach the cable entry from the tailgate by releasing the catches from inside, one at the top and two at the bottom.
|
|
| 8. |
Extract the wiring harness through the tailgate.
|
|
| 9. |
Cut off the cable tie in the tailgate.
|
|
| 10. |
Remove the washer nozzle by turning it 90° and lifting it out.
|
|
| 11. |
Remove the washer nozzle from the washer hose.
|
|
| 12. |
Pull out the washer hose from the tailgate by first detaching the rubber buffer from the door.
|
|
| 13. |
Remove the hinge pin by using a screwdriver to release the circlips, then pull out the pin, (2 persons).
|
|
| 14. |
Detach the gas springs from their mountings on the tailgate, one on each side, by removing the clip using a screwdriver and pulling the spring away from the ball (2 people).

|
| 15. |
Lift away the tailgate (2 people).

Fit in reverse order.

Holes for the spoiler must be drilled before painting when changing the tailgate. |
