Brief description
The bumper comprises an aluminium rail, a core of cellular plastic and shell of painted plastic.
The principal badge (corporate emblem) is provided with pegs which press into plastic sleeves in the body. The badges on the tailgate and front wings are fastened in place by means of double-sided adhesive tape. The Saab Viggen features the Viggen badge on the front wings.
Protective plastic mouldings are fitted on the sides of the doors while the sills are protected by two-piece scuff plates except on cars equipped with the sports pack and the Saab 9-3 Viggen on which the scuff plates are larger and of one-piece design. The mouldings and scuff plates are secured to the body by means of screws and clips.
The front wing liners are made of plastic and protect the body from stone chipping and dirt. The wing liners are screwed to the body.
