DSM uses the following information
| Bus messages | Value/Unit | From | User | Description |
| Key position, ignition switch | Lock, Off, On, Start | CIM | ACC, DSM | DSM is woken up via the bus. ACC activates the seat heating in On position only. |
| Seat heating, personal settings | Auto/Manual | ICM | ACC | ACC selects a setting depending on customer setting via SID and SIDC |
DSM sends the following information

| Driver's seat, in motion | On/Off | RLDM | RLDM control the Comfort Enable function, which in certain circumstances allows the seat to be operated when the ignition is off. RLDM will not deactivate the seat while it is in motion. |
| Memory function, request | Store/Read | DDM, PDM | DDM and PDM have memory positions stored for the mirrors. The control modules either store the current mirror position or read from memory and adjust the mirrors. |
| Memory function, setting | 1-3 | DDM, PDM | DDM and PDM have 3 memory positions stored for the mirrors. The control modules store or read from the current memory position. |
