Function
The engine crankcase ventilation is completely enclosed. The ventilation comprises partly of two connections mounted in the camshaft cover. The crankcase gases pass from the camshaft cover via a hose to a connection downstream from the throttle body (1) where the vacuum in the engine draws in the crankcase gases. Another hose leads to the camshaft cover, where it is connected upstream from the throttle body. Fresh air enters the engine through this hose. When the engine is running at high load, the crankcase gases will exit this way. An oil trap has been integrated into camshaft cover.
At high engine loads when there is a slight vacuum / close to atmospheric pressure in the engine intake manifold, gases also pass via hose 2. The gases are mixed with the intake air for combustion in the engine.
