Description

The fuel system is non-return and works by means of an electrically driven fuel pump, located in the tank, drawing fuel from the fuel tank and building up a fuel pressure in the system. The fuel is forced to the fuel filter from the fuel pump. After the fuel filter the line is divided into two branches, one leads to the engine and the other back to the pump unit. In the cap of the pump unit is a fuel pressure regulator. This fixes the system pressure at 3.8 bar. The fuel pressure is constant and does not vary with the pressure in the intake manifold. The return flow also drives an ejector pump which is integrated into the fuel pump unit.


The fuel filter is mounted on the right-hand side of the tank.

Fuel is injected through the injectors (electric solenoid valves) fitted in the intake manifold and connected with each other through a common fuel rail.
