| 1. |
Raise the car and remove the lower engine cover.

| 2. |
Place a suitable receptacle under the engine. Undo the oil plug and drain the engine oil.
|
|
| 3. |
Unplug the oil temperature sensor and oil level sensor.
|
|
| 4. |
Slacken the rear bolt on the torque arm and remove the front bolt. Lower the torque arm.
|
|
| 5. |
Remove the oil sump and remove the old gasket. Mop up any dropping oil.

Check the oil suction pipe and change if necessary.
|
|
| To fit |
| 1. |
Check that there are no impurities or other foreign matter in the sump and clean the sealing surfaces with benzine.
|
|
| 2. |
Tighten the bolts securing the oil suction pipe if this has been changed.
Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft) 
|
|
| 3. |
Apply
83 95 691 Flange sealant
to the mating faces as illustrated.
|
|
| 4. |
Position the oil sump on the gearbox and fit it with a new gasket.
Tightening order: 1 Tighten all bolts finger tight. 2 Tighten the bolts in the cylinder block and timing cover: Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft) 3 Tighten the bolts in the gearbox: Tightening torque M8, 20 Nm (15 lbf ft) Tightening torque M10, 40 Nm (30 lbf ft) |

Plug in the engine oil temperature sensor and oil level sensor.

| 6. |
Fit the torque arm and tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque, rear bolt 70 Nm + 90° (52 lbf ft + 90°) Tightening torque, front bolt 37 Nm (27 lbf ft) |

| 7. |
Fit the oil plug with a new seal.
Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft) 
|
|
| 8. |
Fit the lower engine cover and lower the car.
|
|
| 9. |
Fill with engine oil to the level indicated in the specification; see
