Saab 9-3 M05- with engine alternative Z19DT.
During unintentional stalling of the engine while driving off, the grooved key in the belt pulley for the timing belt may break off.
In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

This TSB presupposes that the grooved lug in the timing belt pulley has broken off.
|
|
1.
|
Remove the timing belt. See WIS 9-3 (9440) - 2. Engine - 4-cylinder diesel - Basic engine - Adjustment/Replacement - Timing belt in-car Z19DT.

|
2.
|
Lower the engine with 32 025 007 Assembly fixture (C) far enough so that the timing belt pulley's bolt is accessible.
|
|
3.
|
Remove the timing belt pulley using 32 025 006 Holder, crankshaft (A) in combination with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft pulley (B).

|
The bolt has a left-hand thread.
|
|
|
4.
|
Fit the new timing belt pulley, with the lug (A) in the timing belt pulley against the groove (B) in the crankshaft.
|
|
5.
|
Tighten the timing belt pulley using 32 025 006 Holder, crankshaft (A) in combination with 83 95 360 Holding tool, crankshaft, timing belt pulley (B) and remove the tools.
Tightening torque, bolt 340 Nm (245 lbf ft)

The bolt has a left-hand thread.

6.
|
Raise the engine using 32 025 007 Assembly fixture (C) to normal position.
|
|
7.
|
Fit the timing belt. See WIS 9-3 (9440) - 2. Engine - 4-cylinder diesel - Basic engine - Adjustment/Replacement - Timing belt in-car Z19DT.
