Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit. Plausibility Fault with Atmosphere Pressure.

Fault symptom

Fault indicator lamp (for further information see WIS Fault diagnosis, general)

Performance loss.

On-board diagnosis

Type of diagnosis:

Continuous

Enable criteria:

Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:

The difference between boost pressure and atmospheric pressure is more than 15 kPa for more than 20 s.

System reaction to a fault:

Limp Home, engine torque limitation.
EGR control and boost pressure control switched off.
The control module uses substitute value 101,3 kPa.

Checking the wiring harness

Faults in the control module female connector can be the cause of the DTC. Check the connector with respect to oxidation, depressed pins and pin clamping force.
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
