| Description |
The car alarm is part of the car's anti-theft protection and indicates an attempted theft acoustically and visibly. The car alarm function also includes a panic alarm that is activated manually. The alarm logic is contained in the body control module (BCM). The car is available without an alarm or equipped with 2 alternative levels of alarm.
ATA 1 (Anti-Theft Alarm 1)
The anti-theft alarm used the ordinary door switches and alarms in case of break-ins through the doors, boot or bonnet plus if +15 is made live when the alarm is armed. It also alarms if there is any motion in the cabin. There is an ultrasound sensor mounted in the front roof console.5D: There are glass breakage loops mounted in the rear right and rear left side windows and in the rear window.
The anti-theft alarm uses the car's ordinary horn and direction indicators to indicate a triggered alarm.

ATA 3 (Anti-Theft Alarm 3)
The anti-theft alarm works in the same way as ATA 1 but uses a siren with a battery reserve as an audible indicator together with the car's horn. This siren is fitted in the boot. ATA 3 is also fitted with a tilt sensor which is integrated with the anti-theft alarm sensor.An alarm can be retrofitted and ATA 1 can be upgraded to ATA 3.

The car alarm is armed using the remote control but can also be set to arm itself when the car doors are closed or when the boot lid is closed. The alarm status can be checked with the LED mounted in the SID unit. When the alarm is triggered, BCM will send a bus command, whereby UEC (underhood electrical center) will turn on the front direction indicators and the car horn. The rear direction indicators are turned on by the REC (rear electrical centre). The siren is activated directly by the BCM control module via the communication cable. The interior lighting will be turned on by BCM when the alarm is triggered.
