It is important that all sheet metal is cleaned before primer is applied. Any remaining welding primer reduces the adhesion of paint, filler and sealant. Use cleaner FL T875 or other equivalent product.

Primer must be applied to all bare metal surfaces that are not being treated with plastic filler. Special primer is to be used when painting aluminium surfaces, see information from the respective supplier. Note that primer must be completely dry before applying sealant. Use Standox 1K Füllprimer or equivalent product.
Sheet metal surfaces to which filler is to be applied should first be primed with epoxy primer. This must be done to prevent the corrosion of the metal under the filler.
