Exhaust valve, Z19DTH

/ 9-3 (9440) / 2007 / 2. Engine / 4-cylinder diesel / Basic engine / Adjustment/replacement / Exhaust valve, Z19DTH

To remove

1.	Remove Cylinder head in-car, Z19DTH.

2.	Remove the coolant pipe (A).

3.	Remove the coolant pump with gasket (A).

4.	Fit 32 025 053 Holder (A).

5.	Position the cylinder head in an engine stand.

6.	Remove the pipe between the exhaust manifold and the EGR cooler (A).

7.	Remove the heat shield (B).

8.	Remove the hydraulic cam followers with rocker arms. (A)

9.	Remove the valve:

•

Remove the valve cones (A) using 83 96 384 Valve spring tool

•

Remove the valve shim (B) and the valve spring (C).

•

Remove the valve seal. (D)

•

Remove the valve (E)

10.	Repeat the procedure for replacing the other valves.

To fit

1.	Fit the valve:

•

Fit the valve (E)

•

Fit the valve seal (D).

•

Fit valve shim (B) and valve spring (C).

•

Fit the valve cones (A) using 83 96 384 Valve spring tool .

2.	Fit the hydraulic cam followers with rocker arms. (A)

3.	Fit the heat shield (B).

4.	Fit the pipe between the exhaust manifold and the EGR cooler (A).

5.	Remove the cylinder head from the engine stand.

6.	Remove 32 025 053 Holder from the cylinder head (A)

7.	Fit the coolant pump with gasket (A). Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

8.	Fit the coolant pipe (A).

9.	Fit Cylinder head in car, Z19DTH
