|
Stored cars must be rectified in conjunction with the delivery service.
Saab 9-3 M06-M07,5 and 9-5 M06-M07 with engine option Z19 DTH within the following chassis number intervals and that have been stored for longer than 4 months:
Saab 9-3: 61000483 - 71100030
Saab 9-3 CV: 66100917 - 76003223
Saab 9-5: 63500316 - 73507359
If the car has been stored for longer than 4 months, the swirl throttle that controls combustion circulation may jam.
Symptom description
Diagnostic trouble code P1109-61 (9-3 M06-07), P2075 (9-3 M07,5), P1109 (9-5) detected. CHECK ENGINE malfunction indicator lamp lit and engine in Limp home mode.
If the induction pipe and actuator for swirl throttle require replacing

When installing the campaign plate:

Before taking any action, the campaign plate's window, C1, must be checked. From and including M04 there is a table, "Marking completed modifications" in the car's Warranty and service book. In cases where local regulations require that marking be carried out on cars, a campaign plate must be installed according to the section "Installing campaign plates". If the window is not filled in, continue as follows.

Check diagnostic trouble codes with Tech2.
Are diagnostic trouble codes P1109-61 (9-3 M06-07) P2075 (9-3 M07,5), P1109 (9-5) shown?
Yes
: Replace the actuator for the swirl throttle and induction pipe according to WIS:
9-3 M06/M07 - Engine - 4 cyl diesel - Induction system - Adjustment, replacement- Induction pipe/seal, 1.9DTH
or
9-5 M06/M07 - Engine - Induction system, diesel - Adjustment, replacement - Induction pipe/seal, Z19.
No further action required.
No
: Go to step 2.

If the CHECK ENGINE malfunction indicator lamp comes on when performing the different procedures, using Tech2, check whether diagnostic trouble codes P1109-61 (9-3 M06-07) P2075 (9-3 M07,5), P1109 (9-5) appear. If so, replace the actuator for the swirl throttle and induction pipe according to WIS. No further action required.

If other diagnostic trouble codes appear, perform procedures according to WIS.
|
|
|

The following actions are carried out on a cold engine:
|
|
|

|
Allow the car to idle for 5 seconds.
|
|
|
2.c.
|
Switch off the engine.
|
|
|
2.d.
|
Repeat steps a - c 20 times.
Read off diagnostic trouble codes with Tech2.
Are diagnostic trouble codes P1109-61 (9-3 M06-07) P2075 (9-3 M07,5), P1109 (9-5) shown?
Yes
: Replace the actuator for swirl throttle and induction pipe according to WIS. No further action required.
No
: Go to step 3.

|
Start the engine and allow it to run until the operating temperature reaches 80°C. Read off the temperature with Tech2.
|

4.
|
The following actions are carried out on a stationary car.
|
|
|
4.a.
|
Increase the engine speed to 3500 rpm quickly.
|
|
|
4.b.
|
Allow the engine to run for 5 seconds at 3500 rpm.
|
|
|
4.c.
|
Release the accelerator pedal and allow the engine speed to quickly drop to idling speed.
|
|
|
4.d.
|
Allow the engine to idle for 5 seconds.
|
|
|
4.e.
|
Repeat steps a - d 4 times.
|
|
|
4.f.
|
Switch off the engine and leave it switched off for 15 seconds.
|
|
5.
|
The following actions are carried out on a stationary car.
|
|
|
5.b.
|
Increase the engine speed to 3500 rpm quickly.
|
|
|
5.c.
|
Allow the engine to run for 5 seconds at 3500 rpm.
|
|
|
5.d.
|
Release the accelerator pedal and allow the engine speed to quickly drop to idling speed.
|
|
|
5.e.
|
Allow the engine to idle for 5 seconds.
|
|
|
5.f.
|
Repeat steps b - e 4 times.
|
|
|
5.g.
|
Switch off the engine and leave it switched off for 15 seconds.

Read off diagnostic trouble codes with Tech2. Are diagnostic trouble codes, P1109-61 (9-3 M06-07), P2075 (9-3 M07,5), P1109 (9-5) shown?
Yes
: Replace the actuator for the swirl throttle and induction pipe according to WIS.
No
: The car is OK. Do not replace the actuator for the swirl throttle and induction pipe.

After carrying out the actions, mark the campaign plate in window C1. From and including M04 there is a table "Marking completed modifications" in the car's Warranty and service book. If the actions are carried out by the importer, mark the window with the number "7" and if carried out by the dealer, the number "8".

The campaign plate should only be installed in cases where local regulations require that cars be marked.
