Saab 9-3 MY03- 08 SS/CV/SC with B207-engine (L850).
We have seen this predominantly on Bio Power but also on Petrol cars.
| BACKGROUND |
Fault tracing for DTC P0340 ends up in: "replace ionization module" But, to replace the "ionization module" will NOT solve the problem!
| CONDITIONS |
All driving conditions.
| SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION |
Bad starting ability and/or bad engine behaviors after start and/or illuminated MIL (Malfunction Illuminated Light).
| ACTION |
The Ionization module can not be the root cause for this DTC!
Root cause must be some kind of problem caused by contamination off the spark plugs, either soot or fuel.
Make sure that the spark plugs are cleaned from foreign material or replace the sparkplugs if necessary.
Allow the combustion chambers to dry, if they have been contaminated with fuel.
