Set up the differential in a vice with protective jaws and pull off the bearings with
87 92 343 Puller, differential bearing 5
. Use
87 91 659 Support
for support.

To fit
| 1. |
Press down the bearings until they bottom with
87 92 475 Press sleeve, differential bearing
. Use
87 92 210 Support, differential bearing
for support.

See differential bearing race in clutch housing when changing the bearing race.

|
| Replacement of final drive gear |
To remove
| 1. |
Remove the final drive gear bolts using an external torx and tap off the final drive gear using a plastic hammer.
|
|
To fit
| 1. |
Tap on the final gear wheel on the differential housing using a plastic hammer.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the final drive gear with the mark towards the differential. Fit
new bolts
and tighten alternately. Apply
Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 270
. The gear may have to be heated slightly prior to fitting.
Tightening torque: 20 Nm+90° (15 lbf ft+90°) |
