| Background |
Certain cars may be experienced as being slow to change gear. Gear changing quality can be improved by reducing the oil volume in the gearbox from 3.0 litres to 2.4 litres.
The oil volume is reduced in production with the following Vehicle Identification Numbers as delimitation:
4D/5D: 71138847
CV: 76109050
In the case of customer complaint, the following procedure must be carried out.

93 165 290 Gearbox oil MTF0063 (1 litre). Requirement 2.2 litres/car.

Drain the old gearbox oil and fill with 2.2 litres of new gearbox oil (93 165 290), see WIS - 4. Transmission - Manual gearbox - 6-speed - Adjustment/Replacement - Topping up/changing gearbox oil B284.
