Oil pressure check, Z19DTR

To remove


1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Raise the car.

3. CV: Remove Chassis reinforcement, front subframe, CV, diesel .

4. Remove the lower engine cover.

5. Undo the cable clips (A) from the EHPS holder.


Important

Take care when releasing the locking mechanism on the connector so as not to damage the connector. Pull the connector straight out when unplugging avoid bending the pins. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection.


6. Unplug the pressure sensor connector (B).


7. Remove the pressure sensor (C).

8. Fit 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure and 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment .

9. Lower the car.

10. Fit the battery negative cable.

11. Connect and exhaust hose and start the engine.

Note

Do not leave the engine running for longer than it takes to check the specified oil pressures.


12. Measure the oil pressure:

Idling speed >1 bar

Warm engine >4 bar at 4000 rpm.

13. Switch off the engine.

14. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

15. Raise the car.

16. Remove 87 92 301 Adapter, oil pressure and 87 91 600 Pressure measuring equipment .


To fit


1. Fit the pressure sensor (C).

Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 lbf ft)

Important

Take care when plugging in the connector so as not to damage or press out the pins/sleeves in the connector. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection.



2. Plug in the pressure sensor connector (B).


3. Fit the cable clips (A) to the EHPS holder.

4. Fit the lower engine cover.

5. CV: Fit Chassis reinforcement, front subframe, CV, diesel .

6. Lower the car.

7. Fit the battery negative cable.

8. Connect an exhaust extractor hose and start the engine to check everything runs correctly.

9. Check engine oil level, top up as necessary to the prescribed level.

10. Carry out Procedures after reconnecting the battery .
