Use the following fitting method to prevent the upper engine cover chafing on the heater hose. (If holes arise in the hose then a mild smell of oil may be detected.)

Fit the upper engine cover.
|
|
2.
|
Check that chafe guard on the heater hose (A), which connects to the intake manifold, is not in contact with the recess on the engine cover.
|
|
3.
|
Press out the hose by hand so that it has clearance from the engine cover all around (B). The copper pipe inside the hose ensures that it remains in the adjusted position.
|
|
4.
|
If there is damage to the chafe guard, then turn it so that the damaged part is not in contact with the engine cover.
