PRE-RELEASE

Crankshaft position sensor (345), 4WD

To remove


1. Remove Transfer gearbox .

2. Remove the bracket (A).


3. Remove the pipe holder bolt (B).


4. Guide the pipe down slightly and remove the heat shield (C).


Important

Take care when releasing the locking mechanism on the connector so as not to damage the connector. Pull the halves straight apart to avoid bending the pins. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection .


5. Unplug the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).


6. Remove the sensor (B).


To fit


1. Fit the sensor (B) using a new O-ring lightly coated with acid-free Vaseline .

Tightening torque 10 Nm (7 lbf ft)

Important

Take care when plugging in the connector so as not to damage or press out the pins/sleeves in the connector. For further information regarding connectors, refer to Connectors, handling and inspection .


2. Plug in the crankshaft position sensor connector (A).

3. Fit the heat shield (C).


4. Fit the pipe holder bolt (B).


5. Fit the bracket (A).


6. Fit Transfer gearbox .
