TECHNICAL ADVICE - Quick information for your help
Bulletin Nbr: TA351-0726
Date: ........... November 2007
Market: GB
LED parking light strip does not illuminate

VEHICLES CONCERNED

Saab 9-3 M08.

BACKGROUND

The new LED based parking light tube can sometimes become deactivated by the front electrical centre (UEC). The very low current consumption of the parking light is, under some conditions, below the limit the UEC detects as an open/short circuit thus the UEC will deactivate the output until the next time the car is started.

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION

Parking light (LED) strip does not illuminate

This symptom can occur with the engine running or off and may affect just one side or both.

It can be intermittent and the parking light(s) work from time to time.

Trouble codes (UEC: B3871 and B3872) may be logged if the problem occurs.

The rear parking lights are NOT affected.

ACTION

Do not replace the headlight. Work is ongoing to find a technical solution to solve this issue.

In the event of a complaint, please inform the driver to re cycle the ignition if the problem occurs.

We expect to distribute new updated information in late 2007 - early 2008.
