Remove the lower engine cover (A).
|
|
3.
|
Remove the front exhaust pipe.
|
|
|

|
Remove the three nuts of the catalytic converter (A).
|
|
|
•
|
Remove the mounting on the gearbox (B).
|
|
|
•
|
Suspend the front exhaust pipe with a strap (C).
|
|
4.
|
Remove the temperature sensor from the catalytic converter (A).
|
|
5.
|
Remove the lower retaining bolts from the catalytic converter. Undo and bend down the mounting (B).
|
|
6.
|
Remove the lower nuts (C) and bolt (D) of the heat shield.
|
|
8.
|
Remove the turbocharger delivery pipe.
|
|
|
•
|
Undo the hose clip (A).
|
|
|
•
|
Undo the hose clips (B).
|
|
|
•
|
Remove the turbocharger delivery pipe (C).
|
|
9.
|
Remove the screw holding the dipstick tube (D).
|
|
10.
|
Remove the upper bolts of the heat shield (E).
|
|
11.
|
Detach the heat shield and move it to the left.
|
|
12.
|
Slacken the nut on the catalytic converter clamp (A).
|
|

|
Move the catalytic converter rearwards toward the engine and remove the heat shield.
|
|
15.
|
Hold the clamp open with circlip pliers or the like and lower the catalytic converter.
|
|

Clean the sealing surfaces.
|
|
2.
|
Position the catalytic converter.
|
|
|
•
|
Raise up the catalytic converter and position it using a new gasket.
|
|
|
•
|
Hold the clamp open slightly with circlip pliers.
|
|
|
•
|
Turn the clamp so that the nut points down. Tighten the clamp finger-tight (A).
|
|
|
•
|
Move the catalytic converter back towards the engine.
|
|

|
Raise the heat shield.
|
|
5.
|
Fit the upper bolts of the heat shield (E).
|
|
7.
|
Fit the turbocharger delivery pipe
|
|
|
•
|
Remove the plug from the turbo.
|
|
|
•
|
Fit the turbocharger delivery pipe (C).
|
|
9.
|
Fit the catalytic converter
|
|
|
•
|
Turn the catalytic converter back (B).
|
|
|
•
|
Bend back the mounting. Fasten the lower retaining bolts of the catalytic converter.
|
|
|
•
|
Tighten the clamp.
Tightening torque to cylinder head 20 Nm (15 lbf ft)
|
|
|
•
|
Fit the lower retaining bolts of the catalytic converter (B).
|
|

|
Fit the lower nuts (C) and bolt (D) of the heat shield.
|
|
11.
|
Fit the temperature sensor to the catalytic converter (A).
|
|
12.
|
Fit the front exhaust system.
|
|
|
•
|
Position the front exhaust pipe.
|
|
|
•
|
Remove the strap from around the front exhaust pipe (C).
|
|
|
•
|
Fit the mounting on the gearbox (B).
|
|
|
•
|
Fit the three nuts of the catalytic converter (A).
|
|
13.
|
Fit the lower engine cover.
