To remove


1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the wheel.

3. Remove the retaining spring from the brake caliper by prising with a screw driver while pressing the flat part of the spring.

Warning

Hold the retaining spring plate when removing the spring so that it can be loosened slowly. The spring can otherwise fly off with great force.



4. Press in the piston by prising with a screwdriver between the brake disc and brake caliper.


5. Depress the brake pedal slightly using a brake pedal clamp.

6. Remove fuse 6 fron instrument panel electrical centre 22 .

7. Detach the brake hose. Plug the hose and the caliper.

8. Remove the protective covers and the hydraulic body guide pins and lift off the body.

9. Remove the inner brake pad from the body and the outer brake pad from the bracket.


To fit


1. Fit the brake pads into the hydraulic body.


2. Put in place the hydraulic body and fit the guide pins and protective covers.

Tightening torque 28 Nm (21 lbf ft)

3. Fit the brake hose with new seals.

Tightening torque: 40 Nm (30 lbf ft)


4. Fit the retaining spring to the brake caliper. Position the upper edge and centre of the spring. Then press home the lower end of the spring. Make sure the lug engages.


5. Remove the brake pedal clamp and refit fuse 6 in the instrument panel electrical centre 22.

6. Bleed the brake system .

7. Fit the wheel .

8. Lower the car.

9. Depress the brake pedal repeatedly in order to press out the brake pistons.

10. Check the brake fluid level and top up as necessary.
