Manual regeneration

Warning • Perform the regeneration outside without any combustible material either under of behind the car. • The exhaust gas extraction systems in workshops are not normally adapted for extreme thermal loads. • The regeneration creates very high exhaust gas temperatures. The exhaust gases or radiation from the exhaust system can cause fire.

The regeneration process burns soot that has been trapped in the exhaust system particle filter and takes around ten minutes. The following points must be observed when regenerating with the diagnostic tool:

•	Engage P or N for manual.

•	Apply the handbrake.

•	Ignition key in ON position and engine stationary.

•	Do not touch any pedals.
