If necessary, depending upon the damage, remove the rear bumper abutment and the rear floor.

Cut the frame member as indicated by the marks. Do not cut further forwards than illustrated. The upper illustration refers to the right-hand side and the lower illustration to the left-hand side.

Drill out the spot welds.
|

| 4. |
Tap out and lift away the part. Straighten any deformed metal.

| To fit |
| 1. |
Cut the replacement panel so that it fits against the existing frame member of the body.
|
|
| 2. |
Fit the replacement panel in place and secure with welding clamps.
|
|
| 3. |
Use the alignment jig's measuring system to position the replacement panel exactly.
|
|
| 4. |
Grind all surfaces that are to be welded.
|
|
| 5. |
Apply welding primer to all surfaces that are to be plug or spot welded.
|
|
| 6. |
Weld the part in place.
|
|
| 7. |
Grind the welds.
|
|
| 8. |
Where appropriate refit the rear floor and bumper abutment.
|
|
| 9. |
Wash away surplus welding primer. Welding primer reduces the adhesion of paint, filler and sealant.
|

| 10. |
Apply primer to all bare metal surfaces.
|
|
| 11. |
Seal joints and seams with sealant.
|
|
| 12. |
Apply PVC replacement to the underside of the floor.
|
|
| 13. |
Apply a thin film of corrosion inhibitor inside frame members and cavities after painting.
