On-board diagnosis
Type of diagnosis:
Enable criteria:
Fault criteria:
| Open circuit on the lead between control module pin B16 and generator pin 1 (D+) for more than 0.5 s. |
Dependent:
System reaction to a fault:
| Control module continues working with the higher idling function. |
OK report:
| No faults for 7 seconds with the ignition on and 60 seconds of idling. |
Fault handling:
| Type III without Check Engine. |

Checking the wiring harness
Move the wiring harness at several spots and in several directions to reveal intermittent breaks and short-circuits. Check switches, connectors and crimp connections for oxidation, retracted pins and pin clamping force.
