If tightening torque is too high, the rim's holes become deformed and centring is lost.
It is impossible to obtain the right torque using an impact wrench. One way to achieve sufficient accuracy with an impact wrench is to use a torque socket. The long, narrow centre of the torque socket limits the force in the impact wrench through torsion springs. Use of the socket makes it possible to achieve the right tightening torque without deforming the bolt holes.
