2. Spare part

3. Joint

Warning

It is extremely important for satisfactory local extraction equipment to be provided in areas where heat is generated by the work carried out there, such as welding, grinding, cutting and drilling.

Complement this with effective respiratory protection such as a face mask with charcoal filter, or better still a fresh-air mask.

When heated, all paints, sealants, adhesives and anti-corrosion agents give off substances that are detrimental to health.

Joints in the body must be all-welded, unless otherwise stated. For best results, the sheet metal must be positioned edge-to-edge when the joint is welded. The best way to get an optimum fit between the replacement panel and the body is to cut the sheet metal as follows:

Cut the replacement panel so that it overlaps the intended joint line by approximately three centimetres.

Cut away the damaged body part so that the remaining metal overlaps the intended joint line by approximately three centimetres.

Position the replacement panel and align it exactly by means of the alignment jig's measuring system. Refit the undamaged bodywork that has been removed and check the fit of the replacement panel.

Cut through both sheet metal plates at the intended joint line.
