A/C compressor, B207

Important

The A/C receiver and the compressor oil absorb moisture from the air, which can then not be removed. Plug all connections that are opened immediately.


To remove


1. Put the car on a lift.

2. Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system, see Draining and filling the refrigerant .

3. Raise the car.

CV : Remove Chassis reinforcement, front subframe, CV, B207 .

4. Remove the lower engine cover.


5. Loosen the 3 plastic screws from the right front wing liner.


6. Release the belt tensioner and take off the multigroove V-belt. Use 83 96 095 Release tool, belt circuit B207E/L .

7. Dismantle the hose clip from the charge air pipe and fold down the rubber hose.

8. Remove the screws from the mounting that holds the charge air pipe to the oil pan. Carefully move the charge air pipe a little.


9. Dismantle the A/C compressor's connector.


10. Dismantle the PAD connection from the A/C compressor. Plug the openings.

11. Dismantle the screws that hold the A/C compressor and move the compressor down.


To fit


1. Adjust the oil quantity in the A/C system. See Filling and adjusting the compressor oil .

2. Push up and fit the A/C compressor.


Tightening torque 24 Nm (18 lbf ft)

3. Remove the plugs, replace the sealing washers and the PAD connection to the A/C compressor.

Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 lbf ft)

4. Connect the connector to the A/C compressor.

5. Fit the charge air pipe to the oil pan.


6. Fit the hose and its clamp to the charge air pipe.

7. Fit the multigroove V-belt. Check that it sits correctly.


8. Fit the front right wing liner.

9. Fit the lower engine cover.


10. CV : Install Chassis reinforcement, front subframe, CV, B207 .

11. Lower the car.

12. Vacuum pump and fill the system with refrigerant. See Draining and filling the refrigerant .

13. Running in the compressor to distribute the compressor oil around the system:

- Activate the A/C and allow it to run for at least 2 minutes at an engine speed of <1350 rpm.

14. Test the A/C system. See A/C system performance test .
