Open and support the liftgate.

Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

Remove the liftgate hydraulic pump from the vehicle. Refer to Liftgate Hydraulic Pump Replacement .

Liftgate Hydraulic Pump Cover

Separate the cover halves from the liftgate pump by releasing the retainer tabs.

Inspect the liftgate hydraulic system for proper operation before final assembly of the trim panels. Refer to Liftgate Hydraulic System Refilling and Liftgate Hydraulic System Bleeding .
