To remove


1. Remove the power unit from the car. See To remove, power unit

2. Remove other equipment from the engine. See Engine on subframe, To remove - To fit

3. Remove the starter motor and the cable duct.


4. Remove the hose to the charge air pipe from the turbo.


5. Detach the heat shield from the turbo.

6. Remove the generator bracket.


7. Remove the large lower right-hand trailing wheel for the belt circuit.

8. Remove the bracket for the right-hand engine mounting.


9. Lift away the old engine from the work surface.


To fit


1. Fit the engine lift lifting yoke to the new engine and detach the straps from the packaging, lift up the engine and remove the plastic. Place the engine on the work surface.

2. Fit the bracket for the right-hand engine mounting.

Tightening torque: 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)


3. Fit the large lower right-hand trailing wheel for the belt circuit.

Tightening torque: 58 Nm (43 lbf ft)

4. Fit the generator bracket.

Tightening torque, M8 28 Nm (21 lbf ft)

Tightening torque, M10 50 Nm (37 lbf ft)


5. Fit the heat shield to the turbo.


6. Fit the hose to the charge air pipe on the turbo.

7. Fit the starter motor and the cable duct, fit new cable clips in the cable duct.

Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 lbf ft)
