PRE-RELEASE

Fan cowling, 4-cyl

To remove


1. Raise the car.

2. Remove the lower engine cover.


3. Loosen the charge air hose from the charge air pipe.

4. Lower the car.

5. Remove the upper engine cover.


6. Remove the charge air hose from the charge air pipes.


7. Loosen the charge air pipe from the fan cowling and remove the pipe.

8. Remove the battery cover, the battery cover, fuse board and battery tray.


9. Remove the charge air pipe from the throttle body and move it aside.


10. Detach the fan connectors from the fan cowling.

11. Remove the fan cowling bolts from the radiator.

12. Move the fan cowling as far to the right as possible (when looking in the car's direction of travel) to move the fan cowling's lower mounting over the lower radiator hose's connection to the radiator.

13. Remove the fan cowling by turning the end towards the battery up. Be careful not to damage the fuel pipe's service port.


To fit


1. Fit the fan cowling. Be careful not to damage the fuel pipe's service port.


2. Move the fan cowling as far to the right as possible (when looking in the car's direction of travel) to move the fan cowling's lower mounting past the lower radiator hose's connection to the radiator.

3. Fit the fan cowling bolts to the radiator.

4. Plug in the fan connectors on the fan cowling.

5. Fit the charge air pipe to the throttle body.

6. Fit the battery tray.


Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 lbf ft)

Fit the fuse board.

Fit the battery.

Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 lbf ft)

Fit the battery cover.

7. Move the charge air pipe into place and fit it to the fan cowling.


8. Fit the charge air hose to the charge air pipes.

9. Replace the upper engine cover.


10. Raise the car.

11. Fit the charge air hose to the charge air pipe.


12. Fit the lower engine cover.

13. Lower the car.


PRE-RELEASE
