P1652

Read the instructions below then start the fault diagnostic procedure.

Symptom: CHECK ENGINE.

P1652

Main Relay Circuit. No Voltage to Control Module.

Fault symptoms

CHECK ENGINE.

On-Board Diagnostics

Type of diagnosis:

- Continuous.

Enable criteria:

- Ignition ON.

Fault criteria:

- The voltage on the input is less than 80% of the battery voltage for more than 2.1 s. (Battery voltage x 0.8 = fault criterion.)

Dependents:

- None.

System reaction to a fault:

- None.

OK report:

- The voltage on the input is greater than 80% of the battery voltage for more than 2.1 s. (Battery voltage x 0.8 = fault criterion.)

Fault handling: (See section Fault handling III, other emissions-related components and functions for more information)

- Type III.

Diagnostic help

The diagnosis concerns an electrical fault on the lead between control module pins 1, 2, 76 and the main relay.

Checking the wiring

Jiggle the wiring harness at several points and in different directions to detect intermittent breaks and short circuits. Observe the multimeter, diagnostic tool or test lamp during the check.
