Fault symptom
The engine does not start or takes a long time to start. Jerkiness and reduced drivability may also occur.
Conditions
In many cases, DTC P0346 is shown, indicating implausible values from the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. This is because the cam belt tensioner can be slack, resulting in the engine control module making incorrect calculations of the two sensor values.
Diagnostic procedure

If the belt tensioner does not spring back there is too little tension left. If so, change the belt tensioner.
