To remove

Important

Blow the hose and pipe connections clean with compressed air before removing.

Cover the holes after removing.



1. Cover the wings.


2. Remove the bolt securing the upper intake manifold to the right-hand engine mounting.

3. Remove the upper intake manifold from the turbocharger and crankcase ventilation.

Move aside the upper intake manifold.

4. Remove the vacuum hoses. The hose from the brake servo has a quick-release coupling.

5. Remove the vacuum pump bolts.


6. Remove the vacuum pump.

Note

Make sure the guide sleeves remain in the pump housing.



To fit


1. Turn the shaft to the correct position in relation to the groove on the camshaft and fit the pump to the engine.

Note

Make sure the guide sleeves and seals are in the pump housing.



2. Fit the bolts.

Note

The bolts for the holes with guide sleeves are longer.


Tightening torque 17 Nm (13 lbf ft)

3. Fit the vacuum hoses.

4. Fit the upper intake manifold.

5. Fit the bolt securing the upper intake manifold to the right-hand engine mounting.


6. Wipe away any oil.

7. Remove the wing covers.

8. Depress the brake pedal a number of times to remove the underpressure in the brake servo.

Depress the brake pedal and start the engine. Check that the brake pedal sinks slightly.
