Compressor's low pressure pipe (4-cyl diesel)

Important

To avoid contaminating the system, clean the area around the parts to be removed. Contaminants and dirt can seriously affect the function and service life of the system.

To remove

1. Place the car on a lift.

2. Drain the refrigerant from the A/C system. See Draining and filling of refrigerant .

3. Remove the RH headlamp and RH direction indicator with their connectors. See Headlamps .

4. Raise the car.

5. Fit the lower engine cover.

6. Disconnect the PAD connections from the high and low pressure pipes of the A/C compressor. Plug the pipes and compressor.

Note

If the receiver has been open for more than a total of 15 minutes, it must be replaced.

7. Remove the intake manifold to the air cleaner.

8. Guide out the A/C compressor's low pressure pipe.

9. Lower the car to the floor.

10. Disconnect the PAD connection for the A/C compressor's low pressure pipe on the RH structural member. Plug the openings. Guide out the low pressure pipe.

To fit

1. Adjust the oil level. See Filling and adjustment of compressor oil .

2. Replace and lubricate the O-rings. Fit the A/C compressor's low pressure pipe to the PAD connection on the RH structural member.

Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 lbf ft)

3. Raise the car.

4. Replace and lubricate the O-rings. Fit the A/C compressor's low pressure pipe.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 lbf ft)

5. Replace and lubricate the O-rings. Fit the A/C compressor's high pressure pipe.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 lbf ft)

6. Fit the intake manifold to the air cleaner.

7. Fit the lower engine cover.

8. Lower the car to the floor.

9. Evacuate the A/C system and fill with refrigerant. See Draining and filling of refrigerant .
