To remove

Warning

Take care not to damage or loosen the energy absorbers. Damaged or loose energy absorbers must not be refitted. If the occasion should arise, the entire headlining must be changed. Damaged energy absorbers may impair head protection in case of a collision.



1. Remove the sun visors and their mountings (A).


2. Remove the light lens (B) from the cover by carefully prizing with a screwdriver in the clip recess of the light lens.

Note

Exercise care, as the light lens could crack if incorrectly removed.

Take care not to scratch the cover.


3. Unscrew the roof console's cover (C).

4. Unplug any connectors for microphone and interior temperature sensor and lift away the cover (B). Unplug and separate the grey 10-pin connector.

5. Remove the interior rearview mirror, 3 screws.

6. Remove the A-pillar trims (fastened with clips) (D).

7. Remove all courtesy handles above the doors (E).

8. Cars with sunroof: Undo the clips (A) in the rear edge of the sunroof (x 3) by carefully pressing with a finger from the rear.


9. Undo the B-pillar trims (A), fastened with clips. Lift the trims from the air ducts and place them to one side.


10. Fold down the rear seat backrest cushions. Remove the speaker grilles on both sides.

11. Remove the C-pillar trims (A) at the top edge (fastened with clips). Allow them to remain hanging in the belts.


12. Remove the cover (B) for the brake light (fastened with clips) and unplug the connector. Move out the brake light's cable so that it is routed free from the console.

13. Undo the clips (C) securing the rear of the headlining (x 2) by turning them 90° and pulling them down.

14. Lower and slide forward the front seats and fold the backrests forward as far as possible.

15. Carefully release the headlining from the door weatherstrips (D). First undo the passenger side and then the driver's side.

16. Cars with sunroof: Detach the headlining from the hooks adjacent to the sunroof.

17. Unplug and separate the connector on the upper surface of the headlining.

18. Cars with anti-theft alarm: Unplug and separate the connector.

19. Move the headlining backwards and lower it.

20. Remove the roof console (A).


21. Unplug and separate the connector (B) and unplug the connector for the sunroof (C) if fitted.

To fit

1. Plug in the connector (B) and also (C) if such a connector is fitted.

Important

Be careful not to bend the roof.



2. Fit the roof console (A).

3. Cars with anti-theft alarm: Plug in the connector.

4. Plug in the connector on the upper surface of the headlining.

5. Fit the headlining to the B-pillar trim and door weatherstrips on the driver's side.

6. Move the headlining forward so it is hanging from the roof console by the rearview mirror.

7. Cars with sunroof: Secure the headlining in the hooks adjacent to the sunroof.

8. Align the headlining under the door weatherstrips (D) on the passenger side. Check that the door weatherstrips are fitted correctly.

Note

Check that the headlining is properly attached.



9. Route in the brake light cable and plug in the connector.

10. Fit the clips (C) which hold the headlining at the rear edge.

11. Fit the brake light cover (B).

12. Fit the C-pillar trims (A).

13. Fit the speaker grilles and fold back the rear seat backrest cushions.

14. Fit the B-pillar trims (A). Check that the belt runs correctly.


15. Cars with sunroof: Fit the clips (A) in the rear edge of the sunroof.


16. Fit the courtesy handles (E).


17. Fit the A-pillar trims (D).

18. Fit the interior rearview mirror.

19. Plug in any connectors for microphone, interior temperature sensor and the grey 10-pin connector.

20. Fit the roof console's cover and light lens (C).

21. Fit the sun visors and their mountings (A).
