Eberspächer diagnostics instrument used for diagnosis.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check fuel pump

Unplug the fuel pump connector.
|
|
| • |
Connect test lamp 86 11 857 to the pins in the fuel pump female connector.
|
|
| • |
Contact: SID.
|
|
| • |
Activate parking heater (ON).
|
|
| • |
The lamp should start flashing after about 45 seconds.
|
|
Test results OK?
| YES |

Change the fuel pump.

Go to point 2.
| NO |

Unplug connector B1.
-
Connect a jumper lead between pins 2 and 4 in female connector B1.

Take a resistance reading across pins 1 and 2 in the fuel pump female connector.

Check that no open circuit is present.

Go to point 2.
2. Final check

Delete DTCs in all systems.

Contact: SID.

Activate parking heater (ON).
|
|
| • |
Perform a functionality check.
|
|
| • |
Evaluate the functionality check.
|
|
| • |
Check that the diagnostic trouble code has not recurred.

|
Test results OK?
| YES |

Fault rectified successfully.
| NO |
