Car's electrical system in transport mode/customer mode

Car's electrical system in transport mode/customer mode

Because the car's electrical system consumes power, there are two different versions - transport mode and customer mode.

Transport mode

Minimises the car's current consumption during transport from the factory to the customer. In this mode, many customer-oriented functions, such as central locking, interior lighting and audio/navigation system, are not available. As an exception, the car can be taken out of this mode during handling up until pre-delivery service is performed on cars displayed in showrooms, for example. If the car is put in customer mode, the condition of the battery must be checked more often.

Function description: Activating transport mode

When maxi fuse 1 (transit fuse) in fuse box 501 is removed, +30 feed is cut off from functions such as central locking, interior lighting and the audio/navigation system.

Upon activation of transport mode with Tech 2, the central locking and alarm system functions (which are controlled by TWICE) are deactivated.

If the ignition key is turned to the "Ignition ON" position when the car is in transport mode, certain functions in TWICE are awoken/activated so that the car can be moved safely. When the ignition key is turned back to the "Ignition OFF" position, TWICE automatically resumes standby/low-energy mode in order to minimise current consumption.

Activating transport mode

1. Connect Tech 2 and select Body/TWICE/Adjustments/Transport mode "ON"

2. Remove the transit fuse from pos 1 of fuse box 501.

Customer mode

All functions (as per car specification) are now available for the customer.

Function description: Activating customer mode

When maxi fuse 1 (transit fuse) is fitted in fuse box 501, power is supplied to all functions in the car.

Upon deactivation of transport mode with Tech 2, the central locking and alarm system functions (which are controlled by TWICE) are activated.

Activating customer mode

1. Fit the transit fuse in pos 1 of fuse box 501.

2. Connect Tech 2 and select Body/TWICE/Adjustments/Transport mode "OFF"

Test-drive/showroom cars

Maintenance charging is recommended to prevent the battery from becoming discharged and damaged. Charging should be adapted to current consumption. Too high a voltage/current from the charger could damage the battery due to overcharging.

If maintenance charging is not possible, the battery must be checked often (frequency determined by current consumption) - at least once a week. Use the standard battery analyser to check the status of the battery.
