Turbocharger with exhaust manifold

Warning

The turbocharger can be hot and great care must be observed.


To remove


1. Remove the Front catalytic converter .

2. Detach the vacuum hose from the diaphragm unit.


3. Detach the turbo's oil delivery pipe from the engine block.

4. Detach the oil delivery pipe from the engine block.

5. Detach the turbocharger delivery hose from the turbocharger.

6. Remove the nuts and lower the turbocharger.


7. Detach the oil delivery pipe from the turbocharger.


To fit

Important

To reduce the risk of hoses mounted on the delivery side of the turbocharger coming loose due to low friction at high air pressure, the hoses and connecting pieces must be cleaned thoroughly before fitting. Use a rag dampened with 93 160 907 Motip Dupli cleaning agent to wipe clean inside the ends of the hoses. Clean the connecting pieces as well. If hose clips are rusty or damaged, they must be replaced so the correct clamping force is maintained.



1. Attach the oil delivery pipe to the turbocharger using new gaskets.


2. Position the turbocharger and fit the nuts. Fit a new gasket.

Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 lbf ft)

3. Fit the turbocharger delivery hose to the turbocharger using a new hose clip.


4. Attach the oil delivery pipe to the engine block using new gaskets.

5. Fit the turbocharger oil return pipe using new gaskets.

6. Attach the vacuum hose to the diaphragm unit.

7. Fit Front catalytic converter, Z19 .
